Autumn Term 2017
Hello everybody and welcome to the first newsletter of the Autumn term!
I hope you have had a lovely Summer break and are ready and raring to go. We have a busy term ahead featuring the Tapathon, exam sessions and a Christmas concert.
Events
The annual Tapathon will be held on Sunday 19 November from 12-2pm at Coundon Social Club. Pupils and Adults are learning the routine in class and you can register to take part with Miss Jill. There is a £10 entry fee (which includes admin, t-shirt and donation to Children in Need) and the event is usually fun and enjoyable.
We shall have IDTA and LCM exam sessions at the start of December. Pupils are busy learning their routines and songs. Dates are being confirmed at present. Please speak with Miss Jill if you are unsure if you are involved. Fees for LCM are due by the end of the month.
A Christmas Concert shall take place at Coundon Social Club on Saturday 16 December at 7pm. It is a chance to see singing pupils and our glee group perform examination pieces and Christmas songs to get you in the Christmas mood. Ticket price TBC and there will be a raffle for Bloodwise.
Auditions
There are a few audition opportunities this month including Belgrade Theatre Panto on 3rd Sept, Leamington Spa Panto on 10th Sept and Annie (to be performed next May at the Belgrade) on 24th September. For more information please speak to or contact Miss Jill.
News
Ella, Lucy H, and Lauren D all start their studies at BOA - Birmingham Ormiston Academy this month. They are all pupils on the KS4 Musical Theatre Pathway. Abbie S also shall be attending BOA in Year 12, on their Technical Theatre Course. I wish them all well in their new academic adventure!
We also have Jess D, Ella, Lucy H and Lauren D performing in YOG's production of Happy Days in November at the Albany Theatre.
Adult Classes on offer
- Adult Dancexercise classes are held on a Tuesday evening (at United Reformed Church, Holyhead Road in Coundon) at 7.15-8.05pm.
- Singing group - Wednesdays at 7.15-8pm
- Adult Tap class (for all abilities) - Thursdays at 6.15-7pm.
Other Business
School T-Shirts are still available to purchase. These have been introduced as part of our uniform for Freestyle Dance and Musical Theatre (where a black t-shirt is required) but are available to anyone who attends a class at the school. School Hoodies are also available to order, as well as holdalls, satchels and warm up crop tops.
